This Week I am Reading:

Divergent[i] by Veronica Rothdivergent uk cover

I finally started Divergent this week, after its been sitting on my ‘to read’ pile for over a couple of months now. I was a little hesitant to read it at first because I know the series doesn’t have a ‘happy ending’ and I am all for happy endings. But I decided to bite the bullet and voluntarily have my heart shattered by another book.

I’ll admit when I began the book I didn’t know if I was going to like it, it was something about the writing. But as I kept reading I kept reading. I could’t put it down and next thing I knew it was 3:30 in the morning.

I think what made me love this book was how it made me feel. I’m constantly nervous for Tris. Like sick to my stomach, twisting and clenching insides, nervous for her and a book hasn’t forced that kind of response out of me in a while, which I thought was pretty special.

I’m not finished yet, I want to savour the devastation.
